CR116 has begun the assembly of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) at the bottom of the 36m deep Intermediate Launch Shaft (ILS)

We are excited to announce that the assembly of the Gammon & Bachy Soletanche Singapore Joint Venture slurry Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is officially in progress! This significant activity is taking place at the bottom of the 36-meter-deep Intermediate Launch Shaft (ILS), marking another milestone in our project’s journey.

Following the successful completion of four mined adits, our teams are now channeling their efforts into assembling the front shield and main drive of the TBM. This critical operation is a testament to the remarkable expertise and dedication of our talented team, supported by the invaluable resources of our sister company, Bessac.

Once fully assembled, the TBM shield will boast an impressive diameter of 7.22 meters and a weight of 530 tons—an engineering marvel that embodies precision and strength.

The journey ahead is filled with anticipation, and we are thrilled to share updates as we progress further. Stay tuned for more exciting developments in this incredible project.
