Project Description

Ed. Zublin AG Singapore Branch (main contractor) has engaged Bachy Soletanche Singapore Pte Ltd (BSS) to construct the underground circular shaft.

The diaphragm wall construction techniques comprise of trench excavation with mechanical grab rigs excavating under bentonite slurry, reinforcement cage installation into the excavated trench, installation of Continuous Water Stop (CWS) former to keep water-stop in place between each adjoining panels and casting of concrete using tremie pipes.

Project Information 

The Jurong Island Service Tunnel comprises the construction of an underground circular shaft (8.85m Inner). to be formed by diaphragm wall panels embedded to approximately 36m below ground level. The site located along Banyan Drive. It is measured approximately 16m x 40m wide. Within the site compound, there is a large overhead pipe that stands at approximately 13m from the ground to the soffit of the slab. As a result, low head room heavy machinery manoeurability is restricted by the remaining effective working space.
