T219 Orchard Station

Project Description

Contract T219 involves the construction of the underground Orchard MRT interchange station and associated bored tunnels for Singapore’s Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), connecting the new TEL to the existing North-South Line (NSL) at Orchard Road.

This project involves construction and completion of 210m long and 35m deep underground station built by using a top-down method.
A new 25m deep pedestrian platform link (undercrossing) was also constructed.

The project was officially completed in 2020, facilitating a crucial interchange in the city center.

Bored Piles: 7,100 m3

Excavation (Mining): 8,500 m3

Earthworks (Civil Works): 450,000 m3

Concrete (Civil Works): 115,000 m3

Ground Improvement: 33,000 m3
