T303 Tanjong Rhu Station

Project Description

Contract T303 involves the design and construction of Tanjong Rhu Station and 2 sections of Cut & Cover (C&C) Tunnels, spanning approximately 950m in total along Tanjong Rhu Road, in between condominiums and with a section overcrossing existing Kallang- Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE).

The C&C tunnels ply through the heart of Tanjong Rhu residential area of near 1900 households, with some of the diaphragm walls as close as 1.5m from the boundary walls.

In addition, about 110m of tunnels were carried out using open-cut method, as the gap between KPE and the tunnels was as close as 37cm.

Despite of these challenges, the contracting JV managed to complete and achieve the key dates timely and safely. It is also commendable that the open-cut construction above KPE was carried out safely with zero accident.

The T303 project was also named Merit Award winner for Project of the Year 2024 by the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society (TUCSS).
