Project Description
The National Gallery Singapore project consists of the renovation of two historical buildings of Singapore: Former City Hall and Former Supreme Court. A diaphragm wall has been designed in and out of the buildings in order to build one to three basements below the existing buildings, of which the facades are preserved.
Project Challenges
1) Cross the historical facades at 4 locations
2) Work within Former Supreme Court under a limited headroom of 5.3 to 6.5m high
3) High steel ratio: average of 288 kg/m3 and up to 420 kg/m3
4) Work in adjoining streets within 8.5m width
